Amanda Vinson MPT, PCS, CIMI®, received her Master of Physical Therapy Degree from Nova Southeastern University
in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida after receiving her Bachelor of Science in Food and Nutrition from Florida State University in
Tallahassee, Florida. In 2000, Ms. Vinson moved to Georgia from Florida and has been working in the area of pediatrics
in Atlanta since then and is the founder and owner of Theraplay Pediatric Services, Inc. She is a Board Certified Specialist
in Pediatric Physical Therapy through the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA), and a Certified Infant Massage Instructor.
Ms. Vinson is also a trainer for Georgia's Better Brains for Babies education initiative on infant and child brain development.
Ms. Vinson’s experience includes working with
children from birth to 21 years of age in their home, school/daycare, private clinic, and hospital settings. She also
does evaluations for Babies Can't Wait in Fulton and Dekalb Counties. Ms. Vinson has experience working with children with
a variety of diagnoses including; prematurity, cerebral palsy, Down Syndrome, traumatic brain injury, sensory integration
disorder, juvenile arthritis and more.
Ms. Vinson volunteers with
the Atlanta chapter of the Arthritis Association being a part of their Juvenile Arthritis Counsel. Ms. Vinson was the Chair
for the 2006 American Juvenile Arthritis Organization National Conference. She has been a guest lecturer at both local and national conventions as well as graduate level courses
at local universities. She is currently serving as the PT consultant for the Therapeutic Intervention Program
at the Elaine Clark Center.
She has enhanced her education and practice through courses on neurodevelopmental treatment, sensory integration,
Ther-A-Togs, Floortime/DIR, aquatics, and infant massage. Ms. Vinson's focus on therapeutic activities
strives to be child oriented while incorporating the family. She also offers classes in a group or individual setting for
infant massage instruction and tummy time developmental activities.
